BIBLE READING: Habakkuk 2:2-4

2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

MESSAGE:

In life, there are different seasons of waiting. This is because, as humans, we desire different things at different times, and sometimes, we have to wait before we receive them. A secondary school student, for example, may be waiting to graduate and gain admission into a university. On the other hand, a young man or woman who has graduated from a university and has a job may be waiting to get married. There is always Someone somewhere who is aspiring and waiting to get something. However, a fellow’s attitude while waiting will determine if he or she will get it or not.

The first thing you must do during your Waiting seasons is to remain persistent in your requests. You must keep asking until your joy becomes full, as today’s memory verse says. Another thing you must do during your waiting seasons is to continue to live a holy life. Don’t go out into the world to seek answers or solutions to what you are waiting for. The devil, the prince of the world (John 12:31), does not give free gifts; he always demands something in return, usually at the cost of the seeker’s soul. Lastly, during your waiting seasons, hold on to your faith in God, because without faith, you cannot please God (Hebrews 11:6). If you cannot please God, how can you receive from Him?

My dear child, stay with God; the answer to what you are waiting for is on the way. Don’t miss your way by seeking quicker alternatives. I pray that God will grant you the grace to remain strong during your waiting seasons, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINT
Father, please help me to wait patiently for the things I am trusting you for, in Jesus’ name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Mark 13:1-13, Deuteronomy 11-13

HYMN 67 – I’m Pressing On The Upward Way

1 l’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining everyday;
Still praying as I onward bound
“Lord, plant my feet on higher
ground.”

Chorus:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table-land;
Where love, and joy, and light
abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher
ground.

2 My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise, and fears
dismay;
Though some may dwell where
these abound,
My constant aim is higher ground.

3 Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
To rest beneath unclouded skies,
Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
By those who dwell on higher ground.

4 I long to scale the utmost height,
Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
My song, while climbing, shall resound
Lord, lead me on to higher ground.

5 Lord, lead me up the mountain side
I dare not climb without my Guide;
And, heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
With grateful heart from higher ground.
