Read: Proverbs 25:28

28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

Bible In One Year: Ezekiel 41-42; 2 Peter 1:1-21

MESSAGE:

Discipline according to Merriam Webster’s Dictionary is an orderly or prescribed conduct or pattern of behaving. It is also seen as self-control. I would say a disciplined person does the right thing at the appropriate time without being forced or told.

Discipline cuts across every aspect of ones life. If you are disciplined, it will reflect in your behaviour, relationship with people, the way you spend money and your attitude towards life generally. In the same vein, it is not difficult to identify a fellow that lacks discipline. Such a fellow goes late to places – school, church, errands, events et cetera. He also never completes any task given to him/her and sometimes forgets to even do it. He never does his assignments on his own; he would wait till the day of submission and then copy from others. He lacks manners – sitting, eating, dressing, talking et cetera. God expects His children to be disciplined. So, if you are guilty of any of the above and some others not mentioned, you need to have a change of heart today. Samson’s problem was indiscipline which cost him his destiny. Don’t be like him, cry to the Holy Spirit for help today.

Prayer Point:

Holy Spirit, please help me to surrender totally to your leading today and always.

Hymn: Let Us With A Gladsome Mind

  1. Let us with a gladsome mind
    Praise the Lord for He is kind;

CHORUS
For His mercies shall endure
Ever faithful, ever sure.

  1. Let us sound His name abroad,
    For of gods He is the God;
  2. He, with all-commanding might,
    Filled the new-made world with light;
  3. All things living He doth feed,
    His full hand supplies their need;
  4. He His chosen race did bless
    In the wasteful wilderness;
  5. He hath with a piteous eye
    Looked upon our misery;
  6. Let us with a gladsome mind
    Praise the Lord for He is kind.
