Topic: What Wisdom? [Open Heavens for Teens 9 December 2018]

Memorise: But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

Read: James 3:14-18 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Hosea 1-4, Jude 1

MESSAGE:

Today’s Bible reading talks about wisdom. Wisdom is the correct application of knowledge. It could be from God or from the devil. In the Bible reading, the two are contrasted. How can you identify the wisdom of the devil? Any suggestion or action that accommodates bitterness is devilish. No matter how laudable an action, plan or step is, the moment bitterness is introduced into it, it turns devilish.

In other words, you can have a God glorifying programme that originated from God; if somewhere along the line bitterness enters, God will step aside. Anything you want to do that is born out of bitterness is not of God. Bitterness harms its host as well as its target. An embittered fellow will struggle with forgiving the one who has offended him or her. Is there any bitterness in your heart against an offender? Forgive that individual immediately.

Action Point: Run away from bitterness.

Hymn 13

1.Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

2. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying
The Savior who does on the cross

3. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the word of salvation?
To those who are dying in sin?

4. We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.
