Our Daily Manna November 12, 2017: ODM devotional – He Left His Son’s Burial: Don’t Judge!

Topic — He Left His Son’s Burial: Don’t Judge! [Sunday, November 12, 2017]

Basic Scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 2:3-12

Dr. Stephen entered the hospital in a hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He found  the boy’s father pacing in the hall, waiting for the doctor. On seeing him, the father yelled “Why did you take all the time to come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? Don’t you have any sense of responsibility?”

Dr. Stephen smiled and said, “I am sorry, I was in the hospital and I came as fast as I could after receiving the call and now, I wish you’d calm down so that I can do my work.” “Calm down? What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your son died while waiting the doctor, what would you do then?” said the father angrily. The doctor smiled and replied, “we will do our best by God’s grace and you should always pray for your son’s healthy life.” The surgery took some hours, after the doctor came our happy.

“Thank goodness, your son is saved” and without waiting for the father’s reply, he hurried away saying, “if you have any question, ask the nurse.” The boy’s father asked the nurse, “Why is he so arrogant, couldn’t he wait for a few minutes so that I could ask for my son’s procedure?” The nurse answered, tears coming down her face, “his son died yesterday in a road accident. He was at the burial when we called him for your son’s surgery. And now that he saved your son’s life, he left running to finish his son’s burials.”

Never judge anyone because you don’t  know what battle  he/she is fighting. No wonder Jonathan Harnisch quipped: “The strongest people are not those who show strength in front of the world but those who fight and win battles that others do not know anything about.” I also remember what someone once said: “Walk a mile in my shoes, see what I see, feel what I feel, then maybe you will understand why I do what I do. Until then, don’t judge me.”

Determine never to judge others without finding out the reason behind their actions. Never draw hasty conclusions even when you think you have evidence. Give everyone you meet the benefit of the doubt; time will reveal who they are and why they do what they do. Pray seriously now!

Prayer Points: Take any song of worship as led now.

1. Thank God for today’s word and pray as you are led!

2.  Repent from ways in which you have been quick in judging others.

3. Ask for the grace to be more  patient with people.

4. Father, do something in my life that will be an EVIDENCE in Your power  to my generation in Jesus name(Pray it well).

5. Pray about today seriously and any other issue (s) affecting your peace.
