Pastor E. A. Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has predicted violent-free presidential election in spite of the swelling apprehension associated with it.

Pastor Adeboye, who was in Awka, on Thursday, for the Eminent Personality Lunch at the Best Western Meloch Hotel, Awka, said that God would be in control of the presidential election.

He quoted Psalms 121:4 and concluded that nothing would happen before, during and after the presidential election. He said that “God is in control” and called on Nigerians not to fear or anticipate any violence.

Pastor Adeboye advised politicians to play the games according to the rule, pray fervently and seek the face of God because “God gives power and whoever He desires, He gives it to.”

According to him, “we should be contented with what God gives or what He will give us, and it is not a do or die affair.”

He quoted Psalms 40:28,29 and Daniel 4: 25 to prove that God gives power and that He rules in the affairs of men.

He said that he was neither a politician nor belong to any political party but was speaking God’s mind on the issue and tasked those seeking elective offices to seek the face of God who gives power.

The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Nkem Okeke and the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Oseloka Obazi, represented Governor Willie Obiano. The event featured songs and ministrations.
