“Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” – Isaiah 12:3
I remember the joy in my heart when I discovered as a new wife that I was soon going to be a new mother also. I felt so blessed to be given the privilege by God to give life to another. This same joy has remained in my heart after all these years of training them, and has motivated me in my quest to raising godly, modest and honourable children. This is the kind of joy that should spur the heart of every parent.
The joy of glorious days ahead and the fulfilment you derive when you see the wonderful man or woman you have made of that child. Exhibiting joy and gratitude while bringing up your children help you play properly your child training responsibilities. I admit that joy might not be easy to retain when your child(ren) repeatedly act stubborn or disobedient, but remember joy always strengthens you to make the right decision over that child.
Away from the busyness and “rigour of each day, you should make your children’s childhood memorable by ensuring you don’t put yourself under pressure at all times. Have an optimistic outlook and the right attitude towards them and this automatically will find expression on your outward appearance. Make your children know that you enjoy having them around you and they won’t have any reason to be unduly away from home.
Child raising may be a tasking responsibility, but it must never be a burden to you. Be assured that your children were intended to be a blessing to you, not a source of sorrow or distraction. So, live everyday with them exhibiting joy and excitement for the great future you see in them and always put a smile on your face especially towards them, even when things are not the way you want. Receive grace and wisdom to raise godly children in the name of Jesus Christ!
