Topic: Find yourself and stick to it [Friday June 5, 2015]
“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine…” –Ephesians 4:14
Children can be seen as very fickle at times, hence can be tossed to flow with whoever is in control, per time. That is why you can naturally see a child doing things they don’t understand or even know the reasoning behind. However, when they become adults, it is expected that they give up such characters, because they are supposed to be mature enough to think and act for themselves.
Unfortunately, even some adults act fickle sometimes. They live according to times and seasons. They behave like chameleons, so you can’t really tell who they are. They become calm and polite when they are in church or around their family members, but once those people are off their backs, they are completely different individual altogether. You can never be too sure of them, because they behave unstable as waters.
This kind of character holds no future for anyone. It is important to know who you are and stand by it. You cannot keep playing a double life because it will eventually catch up with you, and when it does, your integrity becomes questionable. You know, you can deceive people, but you cannot deceive yourself. Moreover, your true happiness and character comes when you can be defined by a particular standard.
If the people closest to you say that they cannot tell who you are and what you stand for, then you must be living a double life. Others, especially those close to you, should be able to confidently define your values without mincing words. Your credibility depends on this, so be sure you are well defined. I decree grace to stand for who you should be in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!
Remain Blessed!
