Topic: Where does your confidence lie? [Friday May 15, 2015]

“But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.”-Psalm 73:28

When it comes to finding a life partner, many people claim to be trusting God. They make statements like “am waiting for God’s choice because I believe that is the best for me”. However, when they see someone that matches their God- given description, they go to their pastors, friends or mentors, asking them to examine whether or not that person is the right fit for them.

This creates the question, “are you really trusting God, or the judgment of others”? From my understanding, when you trust God for something, you look into His Word prayerfully to find answers, and when you do, you hang on to what you have discovered.

So, what you find in Scriptures, and what the Holy Spirit says to you, becomes your guide to receiving your answers. In the case where you have to meet with your pastor, this should be for confirmation of what God has spoken to you; not to hear God for the first time through him or her.

If you are indeed sure that your confidence lies in God and not what man says to you, then you should be able to seek God for yourself and hold on to whatever He says to you. Gone are the days of running after seers and future tellers; its high time you know God personally because that’s what guarantees you a glorious and sweatless future. Remember, what actually holds value is not what you are given, but what you find.

Remain Blessed!
