“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”-Daniel 1:8
There is something about a man’s strong-will; it is far different from being stubborn, as it is a determination to do or be strong even in the midst of great oppositions. Having a strong-will can either be to your benefit or damnation, depending on your use of it. However, it is important for everyone to possess a strong passion towards the right course and especially towards God.
For instance, with the level of corruption prevalent everywhere today, it is required that anyone who desires to be different, must first develop a strong-will to live against the prevailing corruption. Even though those around you seem to be excelling from the evil they do, you must hold on to your integrity of standing firm on God’s Word concerning every area of life.
Daniel feared and obeyed God, in spite of the oppositions around him. He dared to still pray, even in the midst of evil conspiracy and persecution. How many people today can boldly declare or tell someone about God and His love, when confronted with Daniel’s kind of situation? However, your strong-will is responsible for the kind of devotion you show towards God and His Kingdom.
The will of a man is powerful, and nothing can stand in the way of any man who is truly determined. When your love for God comes to a state of strong-will, you will become unstoppable by the world. God respects the power of your will and that is why every strong-willed lover of God always ends up blessed beyond measure. You too can be one of them with a determination from your heart and a change in your actions. Receive the grace to back your love for God with a strong-will in the name of Jesus Christ!
