“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”Proverbs 22:6

Examples are the pathways of life. Most successful adults you see today had their footings from the lessons they learnt while growing up. More of these lessons, I believe, came from family settings, either negative or positive. This is why I would like to share a remarkable account told by my husband with you. As a popular adage says, that the secret of every successful man is in his story.

My husband learnt many valuable lessons needed for life from his grandmother, because he grew up with her. He learnt the values of hard work because she was a hard worker and lived comfortably. So, he figured out that it was her hard work that resulted in her financial comfort.

According to him, he also imbibed the principle of tithing from her. Every Sunday, she would take a part of her sales of the week to church and when asked, she said: “This is God’s part of your labour, so that God can bless what remains.” His grandmother also taught him how to trust others, by giving him the key to the safe where her money was kept. She would say to everyone that her grandson can never steal or lie and that paid off.

All these trainings have reflected today in his day-to-day living and the running of the Living Faith Church Worldwide ministry. Children should not be raised through shouting and/or constant, cruel and undue punishments, but by worthy examples. As it is said, “An ounce of example is worth a ton of preaching.” Your responsibility is to leave worthy footprints in the sand of time for them to follow. Build up their destinies through examples and you can be sure that they will not depart from it.

Remain Blessed!
