Topic: Naked But Not Ashamed

“And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” – Genesis 2:25-

It is impossible for the toe to hurt without first sending signals to the brain. They are both members of one body and as such are interrelated. Similarly, God expects that when two people become one flesh in holy matrimony, nothing should be kept secret between them. They must be open to one another, and relate with all sincerity as no one keeps secrets from himself.

Often times, people feel that when they empty themselves to their spouse they may never be accepted for who they are. You may anticipate judgement of your past or actions and therefore may feel that you will lose out on love. We must remember though that when a wound is covered, it tends to fester and worsen, but when it is opened, it heals faster.

This does not just boil down to your past; you should also share important daily events as they unfold. This would help to ease the stress of the day, but guarantee quality family time, void of boredom. Marriage should not be all about you, as they say that it’s the right hand that washes the left and vice versa that makes it clean. Marriage truly is about the other person. It is about doing what you know how so express the love of God and more to them.

Also, openness breeds trust which is the foundation for effectiveness in marriage. Be truthful to your spouse at all times and develop listening ears to and for each other. Couples should be able to say all to their spouse, with respect to the other party. The wife should have free access to the husband at all times and the husband should not lord his authority on her. Both persons should learn to correct in love and in doing that, should bear in mind that you are not in the court of law, but in a home: there never should be the matter of who is right or wrong.

Good marriages are founded upon learning to discuss freely with their spouse, and yours will not be an exception in the name of Jesus!

Remain Blessed!
