Topic: Sound Reasoning [Saturday May 23, 2015]

“Come now, and let us reason together…”-Isaiah 1:18

Marriage is sweet and it’s a wonderful experience. You cannot imagine what God has prepared for you in marriage. That issue or project is not supposed to tear you apart or create tension in your home, if only you apply your heart to wisdom and sound reasoning.

The ability to reason is one of the strengths that God has given us as His children, and that is to help you make sound decisions so you could walk the right path. However, decisions become sharper and more effective when couples come together in agreement. This means bringing your hearts and souls together to derive a more accurate and/or proper choice.

You are not supposed to fight over making decisions as couples. Simple things like who does what, when should a particular project be carried out, or what school your children should attend, should not bring tension to the home, if only you take the time to reason with each other.

For instance, if you want something done and your spouse thinks the opposite, instead of arguing, why not ask each other why this should or shouldn’t be. After that, you evaluate your points and seek the best option in agreement. Every sound decision is as a result of a well sort out plan from both parties. You are both important to each other, so you must both produce your facts, figures and knowledge to produce good results.

You cannot keep arguing without a point. Instead of enforcing your idea on your spouse, why not try giving him or her quality reasons why you think this or that should or shouldn’t be done. When you do that, you would both be enlightened and save yourself the stress of having to fight over your decisions. Don’t be a dictator in your home, give reasons for your proposed action and listen to same. Your marriage is headed for the best seasons!

Remain Blessed!
