Topic: Stop that before it stops you [Saturday May 30, 2015]

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” –Proverbs 16:18

Pride and destruction are twins. Wherever you see pride, know that its companion, destruction, is just at the corner. Pride is very devastating and begins in the heart. My husband often says, “If you’re proud, you know it; you don’t need a prophet to tell you.” Pride is at the root of many people’s family challenge today, yet they blame it on the devil.

When a woman despises her husband because she earns better than him, or is more educated or from a more wealthy background than he is, she is exhibiting pride. Same goes for the husband, if he becomes a tyrant in the home and no one can talk to him, including his children, because he is the CEO of a firm. The result of that action is that, sooner than you think, that item in which you are proud of becomes your sole companion.

Nobody wants to deal with a proud person, because all they do is try to make you see how much better they think they are, compared to you. Even God, resists the proud, but gives more grace and favour to the humble. The cheapest way to therefore have a sweet home is to make yourself of no reputation, because you have a lot to gain from being meek.

Being meek gives you a chance to learn more, opens channels for God’s blessings, and keeps you at peace with your spouse and all those around you. Pride is a terrible plague and causes a horribly intense stench on anyone that allows it. So, instead of letting that pride destroy you, why not lose yourself from its burden. Release your heart to God, and see all that you have as a gift from Him. You are privileged you know, so your family and spouse deserve to be treated with respect. The bliss in your home will not be stopped by pride in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!
