Topic: Spiritual Fervency in the Family (Part 3)

Dear Reader,

The good thing the Lord has started in your life and family, shall be sustained and completed in Jesus’ name.

In the first week of this teaching I said spiritual fervency is the intense, strong, sincere and passionate devotion to God. Last week, I mentioned some points on the need for spiritual fervency. I mentioned that God commanded us to be fervent in the spirit and that because the whole world lies in wickedness, you need to be fervent in spirit.

In this edition, we shall be considering some more points on the need for spiritual fervency.

Be Connected to your Source
As a Christian, you need to be fervent in the spirit, so you can be connected to your Source. “Who is your source?”, if I may ask. God! The Bible says: I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing (John 15: 5). You must be connected to the Source – the Vine, for you to bear fruit. In the same vein, you must be connected to God your Source.

It is spiritual fervency that gets you hooked up to your Heavenly Father. When you are always in touch with God, it becomes very difficult for the wicked one to touch you. The One who lives in you is greater than the one in the world! God now becomes your Father and He will always keep His eyes on you. The Bible states emphatically: Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4: 4).

Spiritual fervency gets you rooted, connected and you are linked up with God. There is a relationship that is in place between you and your Heavenly Father. Whatever wants to break your relationship with God, wants to destroy your destiny. Whether it is the works of the flesh or whatever, it is targeting your destiny: don’t allow it!

Remember that God warns that you should give no place to the devil. The Bible says: Neither give place to the devil (Ephesians 4: 27).

If you give a place to the devil, you will be opening up your destiny to his attack and destruction. Your destiny shall not be destroyed!

For Productivity and Impact
For you to be productive and impacting the world around you depends to a large extent on your spiritual fervency. The Bible says: Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me (John 15: 4).
To abide in Him is to be spiritually fervent. As a branch, therefore, the only way to be productive and impactful is to abide; be connected and fervent spiritually.

Spiritual fervency is a must, it is not optional if you are going to impact anyone’s life in your own lifetime. You won’t lose out in Jesus’ name!

You cannot bear fruits until you are connected to the Vine. This connection can only be possible and available to the children of God. If you would want to receive Him right now, please pray this prayer of faith with me:

Dear Lord, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me. Now I know I am born again!

Congratulations! You are now born again! All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name. Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org, and conselling@faithoyedepo.org; OR 07026385437 and 08141320204.
