“When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.” –2 Timothy 1:5

Parenting is a great responsibility! It entails passing across good morals, values and behaviours from one generation to another. As it is in relay races, where an athlete passes the baton to his or her teammate, you notice that interestingly, the first runner is usually one of the best on the entire team. This is because the speed and effort used at the beginning of the race, determines the outcome of that race.

If your start is slow and sloppy, it would affect the next athlete; even if that person is the fastest runner. Similarly, what you do with your children positively or negatively affects not only them, but possibly even the generations after them. The above Scripture is a valid example of this. Timothy’s grandmother was filled with faith and also taught her daughter to be filled with the same; she then imparted that Spirit of faith on Timothy, thereby producing his great testimonies.

You are your children’s greatest influence. The faith they have in God, people, relationships and the future is determined by what they see you say and how they see you act today. There is a need to pass on the right baton and in time. Train your children early to seek God, pursue diligently what makes for godliness, success and a great future. They and the generations after them need to be preserved.

Your generations are counting on you to make the right choice. You will not miss the target in the name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!
