Topic: Go for Gold [Thursday 22 October, 2015]

“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.”-1 Corinthians 9:24

A gold miner is always persistent, and so, nothing can deter him from the gold he sees. Someone once said: “The world will always stand for those who know where they are going.” This is because only those who actually know where they are headed get there at the end. If you don’t, everywhere would look like it and then you would end up not going anywhere after all. Moreso, to know where you are going is to have a vision and vision is the hallmark of your existence.

However, every vision must be pursued, if it must be realized. My husband once said: “Life is a race, and only runners have a future in it.” You can only achieve that vision by consciously taking daily positive steps towards it actualization. You cannot achieve vision sitting In one spot, you must move. It is said that the earth is always moving, so you are not permitted to be static. Every good vision has to be fought for, and you cannot fight on one spot.

It was said that Alexander Kroll had a dream of becoming a footballer, but he realized he wasn’t built for it. However, he was determined, so he decided to practice 1 hour 30 minutes daily on weight lifting, so he could develop the required muscles for his dreams. He did that for months until he became fit and was absorbed in his dream football team.

You don’t become a master until you put your hands to the right work for mastery. You must take certain definite steps daily, towards your pursuit. More so, the responsibility to attain greatness is solely yours. Others might propel you to greatness, but you have to take the steps yourself. Therefore, rather than sitting in self- pity or a “wishing” state, take that first step today and keep moving on towards your gold.

Remain Blessed!
