Topic: Constant Evaluation [Tuesday May 19, 2015]

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves…” –2 Corinthians 13:5

If you have ever worked in an audit or accounting firm or functioned as an editor, you will know that you are required to look at your work over and again before final submission. Especially when you write for an external audience, or audit a firm outside your jurisdiction, you understand that there exists zero tolerance for errors.

One little error can change the meaning or analysis of your work and cause your credibility to be altered. So it is with life in general. As Christians, in the process of becoming who God has appointed you to be, there is a need to constantly evaluate yourself to be sure you are on the right track. Examine your character, walk, relationships, values and conduct.

Though we all work towards perfection, no one is perfect in himself. There might be areas in which you can boldly say you are doing well in, people might have also given you credit in other aspects of your attitude or composure, but deep within, you know you still need to work harder to meet up to God’s standard for you.

In other to begin or continue working on yourself, you must first evaluate. Are there areas you are lagging behind, probably you or anyone close to you may have pointed this out? Well, it’s time to take those areas of your life seriously. Ask yourself if you have taken the right steps, are hanging around the right company, performing the right tasks and basically are on the right path to your destiny. If not, then you must make amends.

Note however, your checks aren’t just to occur once; you must constantly conduct self- evaluation to be sure you are still in line and have improved from the last time you checked. Your constant evaluation and adjustments brings you to the path of perfection. You will not miss it in the name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!
