Topic: Spiritual Fervency [Wednesday 9 September, 2015]

“Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;”-Romans 12:11

God is a Spirit and you also are essentially a spirit. Although you possesses a soul and live in a body, none of these represent the real you. It is the spirit in you that represents who you are.

This is why for you to relate effectively with God, you need that spirit nature. More often than not, believers, including ministers, make the mistake of paying more attention to the house (the body), when the real attention should be given to the owner of the house (the spirit). You cannot excel in ministry, your calling and/or Kingdom works, without spiritual fervency.

To be “fervent in spirit” simply means “to have a spiritually robust life.” It means to have a strong and sincere connection with God. The truth is: Before you can walk successfully with God, you must be conscious of your spirit origin. The Bible says: “God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24). Notice the disparity in the word “spirit”. This implies that you need an aligned spirit to worship the “Original Spirit”.

This spiritual connection has nothing to do with your title or anointing, but the depth of your sincere engagement with God. You might not have been called to pastor a Church, but in whatever capacity you are called to function, there is a greater calling to be devout and totally sold out to God. In the fervency of your spirit lies your present, future and eternity. Therefore, today calls for an alignment to your true Origin, through your spirit nature. You will not miss it in the name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!
