  1. Understanding what peace is all about
  2. Understanding the necessities of peace
  3. Understanding Scriptural facts on peace
  4. Understanding the demands for peace

Peace is the universal craving of all humans; people want to be at peace within themselves, at peace with their world and at peace with their Maker.

Most people live how they live and do what they do because they believe they will have more peace by what they do.

  1. Peace is freedom from anxiety or distress; it is the state of tranquility
  2. Peace is a state or period in which there is no war or war has ended (freedom from conflict and crisis)
  3. Peace is the stability of heart and mind in the midst of confrontations or adversities
  4. Peace is the state of calmness and restfulness in the midst of pressures or ‘urgencies’
  5. Peace is the state of quiet assurance and confidence under all circumstances (Isa. 32:17; 2Thess. 3:16)

  1. Peace (the peace of God) is needed to withstand and overcome the regular pressures and troubles of this world (John 16:33)
You need the peace of God so that you don’t die before your time
  2. Peace (the peace of God) is needed to confront and conquer sudden storms that may arise in your journey of life (Mark 4:35-39)
The storms of life, at times, arise without warning, and they come to put pressure on your content
  3. Peace (the peace of God) is needed for the workings of God; When man goes to rest, God goes to work (Gen. 2:21-22; Acts 12:6-8; Exo. 14:13; 2Chron. 20:17)
  4. Peace (the peace of God) attracts instruction, revelation and direction from God (Ps. 46:10; Num. 9:8; Isa. 55:12)
There is knowledge in stillness; there is something to know when you are at peace
If you need to be led, you are led with peace (Isa. 55:12)
  5. Peace (the peace of God) is the fountain for true joy (Prov. 12:20; Rom. 15:13)
You cannot have joy if you lack peace
It is impossible to be excited when you are worried; it is impossible to be happy when you are anxious; it is impossible to have joy when everything concerns you

  1. God is the God of peace – Owner, Custodian, Author of peace (Rom. 15:33; Rom. 16:20, 1Cor. 14:33, 1Thess. 5:23, Heb. 13:20-21)
It is not possible to have true peace for anyone who does not know God
  2. Peace is a blessing and provision of God for His people (Ps. 29:11; Isa. 26:12; Rom. 14:17)
It is God’s Will to bless His people with peace (Ps. 29:11)
Peace is an ordination for God’s people (Isa. 26:12)
The Kingdom of God is a kingdom of peace, joy and righteousness
  3. The Covenant of Peace connects God’s people to the peace of God (Isa. 54:10; Ezek. 34:25-26; 37:26; Mal. 2:4-5; 1Pet. 2:9)
    Peace is a Covenant
Covenant with God means demands to be met by man for deliveries to be made by God (In this case, the delivery is peace.)

  1. Justification by faith (Rom. 5:1, Isa. 53:5, Luke 1:76,79, 2:14, Eph. 2:14-16, Isa. 9:6)
Being born again is the entry point into the peace of God
Jesus was beaten so that you might have peace, so when you receive Christ, you have received peace
Jesus came to guide our feet into the way of peace
You cannot have the Prince of peace and be in crisis
You have the right to make demands on peace by being born again
  2. The mind stayed on God (Isa. 26:3, John 14:27)
What you mind determines the peace you have
  3. Handing over cares and worries to God (Phil. 4:6-7, Matt. 11:28-29, 1Pet. 5:7)
If there is anything that is putting your life under pressure now, it is that thing that you have not handed over to God yet
You can never have your problems on your shoulders and be at peace; hand them over to God. He has enough wisdom, power and resources to handle what you can’t.
  4. Intimacy with God (Job 22:21)
Anyone who hangs around fire must feel warm
If God is the God of peace, you can’t hang around Him and lack peace; Quality time in God’s Presence is doorway to peace
People who carry the Presence of God walk in unspeakable peace
  5. Hearkening to God’s Word and commandments (Ps. 119:165, Prov. 3:1-2, Isa. 48:18, Acts 10:36)
Lovers of the Book of God are carriers of the peace of God
Distance from the Bible is distance from peace
The Word of God came to give you peace
Guide your steps with the Word of God and you will be at peace
  6. Access to the Voice of God (Ps. 23:1-2, 85:8; John 16:33; Col. 3:15)
Following the direction of God for your life brings peace
If God is leading you, peace is non-negotiable; to follow the way of the Lord is to collide with peace
When God speaks, it is peace you hear (Ps. 85:8)
Whatever you do that lacks peace, God is not in it! Peace is proof of Divine guidance
Don’t force yourself to be at peace with what you have no peace about
Where peace is lost it means the wrong direction is being followed
  7. Walking in wisdom (1Kings 5:12, Prov. 3:13-17, James 3:17)
    Wisdom is key to peace
You use peace to confirm the wisdom of every action
Where there is pressure and tension, it is confirmation that wisdom is absent
Anywhere you find pressure, there is a wisdom that is lacking
  8. The working of the Spirit (Rom. 14:17, Gal. 5:22, Rom. 8:6)
Inside the Holy Ghost you have peace and joy
When you are a man or woman of the Spirit, you don’t have any option but to walk in peace
When you allow the Holy Spirit to take over your mind, choices and desires, you experience peace
  9. Walking in meekness and humility (Ps. 37:11, Matt. 11:29, Phil. 4:9)
There can be no peace for the proud and arrogant
    Meekness and teachability brings peace
When a person is meek and humble, peace for him is abundant
There is a limit to the peace of the proud
Be humble, meek and teachable so that you can be reachable, then you will have peace.
  10. Walking in love and unity (Eph. 4:1-3; Col. 3:14-15)
Nobody can be hateful and be at peace
Where there is a love and unity in the Spirit, peace is not escapable
Do something for people, put yourself in the shoes of others, and touch lives, it will bring you peace
  11. Walking in goodness and peacefulness (2Kings 9:22-24, Isa. 57:21, 48:18, Rom. 2:8-10, Isa. 48:22, James 3:17-18)
You can’t be jamming people’s heads and have peace in this life and in eternity
Those who make others to be at peace can’t escape peace
  12. Walking in righteousness and the fear of God (Ps. 37:37, 85:10, Isa. 32:17, 59:7-8, Mal. 2:4-7, Rom. 3:13-18)
It is not possible for righteousness to be available and peace does not run towards it
If righteousness has worked on you, the end of it is peace!
Those who run in the way of evil or iniquity will never know the way of peace
Where there is no fear of God, the way of peace can never be known
