Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and tennis player fiancee Ana Ivanovic have tied the knot at a ceremony in Venice.

The newlyweds, who began their relationship in 2014, looked glamorous as they emerged from Venice City Hall after saying their vows on Tuesday.

Schweinsteiger, 31, sported a navy blue two-piece suit for the occasion while 28-year-old Ivanovic donned a traditional pristine white wedding dress.

After emerging from the wedding venue holding hands, the pair made their way to a waiting boat, which whisked them away a short time later.

Former Germany captain Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic, the 2008 French Open champion, were snapped taking a boat ride around the the Floating City in the same boat on Monday night.

The pair were flanked by two men in a white shirts and black blazers, who appeared to be bodyguards.

Close friends and family of the happy couple jetted out to Italy alongside Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic on Monday – the day after the Euro 2016 final.
