Elele Town in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State was unsettled, yesterday, following the recovery of the corpse of a nine-year-old girl, Miss Miracle, who was reported missing.
The remains of Miracle were found around her family house Sunday morning, with blood spewing out of her nose, mouth and private part.
It was gathered that the little girl was abducted Saturday by some boys around Elele Town roundabout while on an errand for her mother and taken to an unknown destination at gunpoint.
A source closed to the family told Vanguard that after the family waited till 12p.m. on Saturday for her to return, the victim’s mother raised alarm and the entire family members went in search for her.
There are insinuations that Miracle may have been hacked and raped to death by her abductors.
Meanwhile, she has been buried, Sunday, amid tears by relatives, parents and school mates.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that there were some hoodlums that had been operating and raping girls in the area.
At press time, Rivers State Police Command is yet to comment on the incident.
