Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi has called on Christians and other Nigerians to use the Easter season to pray fervently for peace, enduring stability in the country and successful completion of the general elections.

Awoniyi made the call in an Easter Message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Abu Micheal, noted that such prayers by Nigerians will help the country attain the desired peace and tranquility.

Awoniyi urged Christians to imbibe the enduring lessons of forgiveness, selflessness and perseverance that the 40 day Lenten season, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Easter Season preaches.

Awoniyi wished Christians in particular and Nigerians as a whole, a happy Easter Celebration, congratulated nigerians for the peaceful conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly election.

The Deputy Governor solicited the people’s prayers for the Capt Wada’s administration, disclosed that the present  administration in the state is one that means well for the people, and striving hard to improve the well being of the people amidst several challenges.

Awoniyi commended Kogites for their abiding faith in the Capt Wada administration, said the state following the tremendous transformation it is undergoing, will no doubt be better for it in the years to come.
