Memorise: “If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles”. Job 22:23

Bible Reading: Job 22:21-28 (KJV)

21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
24 Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
25 Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
26 For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Bible Reading In One Year: Jeremiah 29-30; Titus 1:1-16

MESSAGE:

Do you know that there are different kinds of prayers? There is the prayer of petition, supplication, thanksgiving, agreement, command et cetera. Our focus today is the prayer of command. But can anyone command God? And if anyone can command God, will He obey? Isaiah 45:11 says:

“Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and His Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye Me.”

In 2 Kings 6:18, Elisha asked God to smite the Syrian army with blindness. That was a prayer of command and God answered. God has given His favourites the great privilege of issuing commands to the throne of grace but some conditions have to be fulfilled.

According to today’s Bible reading, if you want to be qualified to command God through prayer, you must acquaint yourself with God. This means that there must be no gap between you and God, and you can do this by constantly studying His word and obeying whatever God asks you to do.

Action Point:

If there’s any gap between you and God, bridge it today.

Hymn: Take My Life And Let It Be

1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to thee
Take my moment and days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for thee

3.Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from thee.

4.Take my silver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose.

5.Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer be mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,

6.Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At They feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee
