The presidency has confirmed the release of 21 Chibok Girls and said that the names of the released girls would be released to the public soon.

President Buhari shortly before taking off to Germany for his official visit, welcomed the release of the girls but cautioned Nigerians to be mindful of the fact that more than 30,000 fellow citizens were killed via terrorism.

Garba Shehu, senior aide to President Buhari said: “The Director-General, Malam LawaL Daura has briefed the President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The release of the girls, in a limited number is the outcome of negotiations between the administration and the Boko Haram terrorists”, he said on his twitter timeline.
