The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authorities, NCAA, has given a ninety-day ultimatum to private jets owners to come up with their updated operational preference or be sanctioned.

The ultimatum was handed down at the end of an emergency meeting in Abuja between officials of the Ministry Of Aviation and stakeholders in the aviation sector.

A statement released by the NCAA spokesman, Fan Nduboke on Sunday said the ninety day period is to enable operators of private airlines to regularize their documentation to specify their choice of routes and operations procedure.

Under the subsisting moratorium no private jet owner in Nigeria is allowed to secretly convert his aircraft to commercial purposes.

The statement adds that any operator caught violating the terms of the ninety days period will be severely sanctioned.

The move is part of ongoing efforts to sanitize the operations of private jet owners in the country plagued with high level malpractices in recent times.
