Memorise: And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. – Genesis 2:22

Bible Reading: Luke 6:38

  1. Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Bible Reading In One Year: Job 19-20; Acts 9:23-43

MESSAGE:

One lesson to learn from Genesis 2:22 is that Adam made a contribution before Eve came. Adam could never have imagined that something from him could bring about a life partner for him. This means that when we sow, especially in obedience and honour to God, you may not know how and when the seed you sowed will come back to you. Yours is just to sow and wait for harvest. Hence, any opportunity you have to sow, always give your best.

You would observe that it was the rib that God took from man that He returned to him as a woman. Your seed is the raw material Heaven requires to make your finished product. But nowadays, there are youth who want a glorious future, but they don’t want to put in their backs to get the finished product they desire. To get what you want, you have to part with something dear to you, you have to pay the price. Adam gave just a rib and got a whole human being. This is to say that whenever we give (time, money, kindness and material possessions) you make an investment that will definitely come back to you one way or the other.

Action Point:

Give God the best raw materials so that the reward -the finished product will come out better than you imagined.

Hymn: There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing

  1. There shall be showers of blessing:
    This is the promise of love;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    Sent from the Saviour above.

Chorus:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

  1. There shall be showers of blessing-
    Precious reviving again;
    Over the hills and the valleys,
    Sound of abundance of rain.
  2. There shall be showers of blessing;
    Send them upon us, O Lord!
    Grant to us now a refreshing;
    Come, and now honor Thy Word.
  3. There shall be showers of blessing;
    O that today they might fall,
    Now as to God we’re confessing,
    Now as on Jesus we call!
  4. There shall be showers of blessing,
    If we but trust and obey;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    If we let God have His way.
