TOPIC: Strength To Overcome (Scroll down for RCCG House Fellowship 11 October 2026 Anthem)
OPENING PRAYER: Father, please give me enough strength to overcome hurdles of life and remain victorious.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader is to remind the members of last week’s lesson on not breaking ranks.
MEMORY VERSE: He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. – Isaiah 40:29 (KJV)
BIBLE TEXT: Isaiah 40:29-31 (KJV)
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
LESSON INTRODUCTION: As we go through the journey of life, enough strength is required. In Isaiah 40:29, the Bible says, the Almighty God is always ready to give power to the tired and worn out and strength to the weak; there is none who never suffers exhaustion, but we need God’s grace to recharge for the next assignment. When going through the ten virgins’ story in Matthew 25:1-10, your readiness to meet the bridegroom is based on having extra in you.
LESSON AIM: To help members have deep knowledge of having strength from God to succeed in life.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
- Wait on the Lord.
- Seek for divine empowerment.
TEXT REVIEW: Isaiah 40:29-31
a. God gives power to the tired and worn out, and strength to the weak.
b. Even youths can be exhausted, and young men can give up.
c. Those that wait upon the Lord will receive renewal of strength.
d. For them, no fainting, no weariness.
TEACHING METHOD: Use interactive and discussion methods.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE: WAIT ON THE LORD
Waiting on the Lord means trusting, hoping and depending on God when it seems everything is silent and not working according to one’s programme. When answers are delayed, when inputs are not yielding results, when requests are turned down, when strength is disappearing, you need to wait. Waiting is an act of faith that God will do it. It brings renewal of hope, refreshes your soul, and energises your inner stamina.
WHEN YOU WAIT:
- Mistakes are reduced.
- Self-confidence is terminated; trust in God is built. Proverbs 3:5-6.
- Spiritual transformation is triggered. Moses encountered God in Exodus 3.
- Demonic activities are exposed and tamed. Mordecai waited at the gate and exposed the conspiracy against king Ahasuerus that led to his promotion.
LESSON OUTLINE TWO: DIVINE EMPOWERMENT
Every believer desires strength, speed, victory and positive results, but God has a system for empowerment i.e. waiting on the Lord. When you wait, you are renewed according to Isaiah 40:31, you are experiencing an exchange. In Acts 1:8, the Bible says, getting power comes when you have encounter with the Holy Spirit, i.e. having God’s presence with you, the disciples waited at the upper room before being empowered, therefore, you have to be prayerful, full of positive expectations, be addicted to Worship, praising God and be rooted in the word of God, all these will bring empowerment.
DIVINE EMPOWERMENT BRINGS:
a. Spiritual and physical transformation. Acts 13:1-2
b. Boldness and operating in God’s wisdom. Proverb 28:1, Acts 6:8
c. Destruction of embargoes and evil agenda. Acts 12:3-9
d. Positive changes to lives around you. Acts 28:2-10
e. Establishment of your words being anointed with fire. 2 Kings 1:8-15
SUMMARY: To wait on the Lord is to trust Him fully, and follow His timing patiently. Waiting brings you to heights you can never reach through personal efforts.
CONCLUSION: Strength from God brings transformation from ordinary lives to state of having supernatural strength. When the Holy Spirit empowers you, you will rise above fear, weakness and limitations, and then you begin to do extraordinary things.
PRAYER POINT
- Father, release supernatural strength upon me to overcome every challenge of life.
- Lord, let Daddy & Mummy G.O be strengthened and renewed for greater assignment.
- Lord, grant me enduring strength to stand firm till the end.
- I receive power to overcome and to finish well.
