No fewer than 200 residents of Orisumbare in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State received free medical services when Province 37 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God organized one its Corporate Social Responsibility programmes in the community.

The Ambassadors zonal headquarters, venue of the free medical services hosted hundreds of residents of Orisumbare community including those who had earlier benefited from such humanitarian gesture in the past and those getting to know about the programme for the first time.

The residents were offered free diagnostic tests to ascertain their Blood Sugar level, blood pressure and other blood examinations like the Widal tests among others by a team of medical diagnostic experts assisted by some medical doctors. The beneficiaries were offered drugs after detailed examinations as their health challenges demanded.

Speaking on behalf of the Pastor-in-charge of RCCG Lagos Province 37, Pastor Benjamin Ajayeoba, the Assistant Pastor-in-charge of the province-CSR , Pastor Olajide Oluwayemi told the people that the gesture was part of the church’s way of giving back to the community as initiated by the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

He urged the people to accept the free medical services as a token from the church in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ on the need to care for one another especially the less privileged. Responding, some members of the community expressed appreciation. Mr. Adeoye Balogun, a Muslim, thanked the church for organising the free medical services for the community, stating that such health services were expensive to acquire in hospitals around the community.

He explained that some that could not afford the high cost of such health services have had to live with their ailments. He maintained that he was particularly impressed that there was no discrimination as to who was qualified to benefit from the services. To Mrs. Suraju Sulaiman, who missed the medical programme organised by the church last year, the testimonies of earlier beneficiaries motivated her to partake in this year’s event.

She expressed satisfaction at the way the programme was organised. Pastor Segun Imonide, the Pastor-in-charge of Christ Ambassadors Zone, venue of the service, thanked the people for appreciating the yearly event. Other senior pastors in attendance included Assistant Pastor-in-charge of province- CSR, Pastor Oluwayemi’s crew, Pastor-in-charge of Jesus Power Zone, Pastor Gabriel Opeyemi, Pastor-in-charge of Praise Sanctuary Zone, Pastor Moses Adeyi, Pastor Dennis Falode of David’s Court Area and Pastor Aladejobi.
