INTRODUCTION: Wealth creation is about building financial resources and assets to achieve security and independence, supporting oneself and others now and in the future. Guided by God’s wisdom (Isaiah 48:17), it involves applying biblical principles such as diligence (Proverbs 10:4), hard work, integrity, generosity, and responsible stewardship, while aligning financial goals with God’s will and putting faith into action (James 2:18-20). May we be aware of the opportunities God provides.

LESSON OUTLINES

  1. BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES
  2. AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITIES

1. BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES

  1. God as the Source of Wealth: God provides the ability, skills, opportunities (Deuteronomy 8:17-18, Exodus 36:1-2, Genesis 26:1-5, 12-15), and wisdom (Proverbs 8:12) to create wealth.
  2. Diligence and Hard Work: Consistent effort and diligence lead to lasting wealth (Proverbs 12:24, Proverbs 13:11).
  3. Right Attitude Toward Wealth: Be patient wealth pursuit, content with what you have (1Timothy 6:6-10), and see possessions as blessings (Ecclesiastes 5:19).
  4. Generosity and Kingdom Priority: Practice generosity (Proverbs 11:24-25, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7), and prioritise God’s kingdom (Matthew 6:19-21).
  5. Start Small, Dream Big: Begin with small steps but aspire for greater things (Job 8:7).
  6. Utilise Talents and Skills: Leverage your God-given talents and skills (Exodus 36:1, Acts 18:1-3).

2. AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITIES

There are numerous legitimate opportunities for wealth creation by leveraging skills, interests, and current socio-economic trends (Genesis 47:3-4, Ecclesiastes 9:10, Proverbs 14:23):

  1. Technology and Digital Skills: Web design, app development, digital marketing, and freelancing platforms.
  2. E-commerce and Online Businesses: Shipping, print-on-demand selling and affiliate marketing.
  3. Investments in the Financial Market: Stock market, bonds, crypto currency, and real estate (e.g., rental properties or crowd funding).
  4. Creative Arts and Media: Content creation (YouTube, podcasting, blogging), photography, videography, graphic design, and writing/publishing.
  5. Service-Based Businesses: Consulting, event planning, and home services (cleaning, landscaping).
  6. Agriculture and Urban Farming: Urban farming, organic farming, and agro-processing (e.g., cassava or tomato paste).

  8. Part-Time Jobs: Driving for ride-share companies, delivery services and task-based work.
  9. Small and Medium Production Businesses: Produce items like liquid soap, bread, detergents and insecticides.

Success in wealth creation requires staying up-to-date, connecting with like-minded individuals, being patient and persistent, ensuring legal and ethical practices, and maintaining integrity in all business endeavours.

FURTHER READINGS:

Sunday: Genesis 26:12-15 (KJV)
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. 13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: 14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. 15 For all the wells which his father’s servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.

Monday: Deuteronomy 8:17-18 (KJV)
17 And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. 18 But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

Tuesday: Exodus 36:1-2 (KJV)
1 Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the Lord put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the Lord had commanded. 2 And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the Lord had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:

Wednesday: Proverbs 10:4 (KJV)
He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

Thursday: Acts 18:1-3 (KJV)
After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; 2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. 3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

Friday: 1 Timothy 6:6-10 (KJV)
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Saturday: Proverbs 8:12 (KJV)
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. 13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: 14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

ASSIGNMENT: Write out five available opportunities you would like to explore for wealth creation (2×5=10 Marks).
