MEMORISE: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Read: Galatians 4:4-5

  1. But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
  2. To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

MESSAGE:

Tomorrow is Christmas and I know you already have plans to have fun. You probably have your special clothes and shoes ready and have a list of fun places to visit with your friends and relatives. Well, that is good but don’t get carried away by the festivity. Rather, bear in mind the reason for the season. Jesus Christ is the reason for the season.

There wouldn’t be a Christmas celebration if Jesus had not left His glory above to come to this world as a man and then lay His life down for the sins of the world. So, in the mood of celebration, reflect on your salvation. I congratulate you if you have accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour, but if your answer is No, you should take immediate actions to receive Jesus into your heart to make your celebration complete.

A very important lesson to learn from the birth of Jesus is His humility. Philippians 2:5-8 tells much about the humility of Jesus, from His birth to His death on the cross. Learn from Jesus this season, be humble as He is. Be loving as He is and as you celebrate, don’t leave out your family. Spend some time with them. Show everyone the Jesus kind of love this season.

Key Point:

In your celebrations, do not forget the reason for the season: Jesus Christ!

Hymns: To God Be The Glory, Great Things He Hath Done

  1. To God be the glory, great
    things He hath done,
    So loved He the world
that He gave us His Son,
    Who yielded His life an
    atonement for sin,
    And opened the life gate
    that all may go in.

Chorus:
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father,
Through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory,
Great things He hath done.

  1. Oh, perfect redemption,
    the purchase of blood,
    To every believer the
    promise of God;
    The vilest offender who
    truly believes,
    That moment from Jesus a
    pardon receives.
  2. Great things He hath taught us,
    Great things He hath done,
    And great our rejoicing
    through Jesus the Son;
    But purer, and higher, and
    greater will be
    Our wonder, our transport,
    when Jesus we see.
