Topic: Seasoned With Salt [Open Heavens for Teens 4 March 2019]

Memorise: “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” – Ephesians 4:29

Read: Colossians 4:6

6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Bible In One Year: Numbers 32-33, Mark 10-1-31

MESSAGE:

Your words define you, Jesus Christ said it is not what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes out of him (Matthew 15:1-11). In other words, the words you speak is a pointer to the kind of heart you have. If you use abusive words, check your heart. If you are always talking about dirty things, check, fornication may have its hands around you. Don’t claim that you only say it but don’t do it. That is a lie of the devil to deceive you. He will first make a fellow comfortable around where it is being said, then the fellow will start saying it and because it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks, before long, the heart falls and then the body follows.

Your words must carry life in them and since John 14:6 says Jesus is the life, and John 1:1 says He is the Word of God, then you should know that you must always speak the Word of God. One way to know a good Christian is if you hear the word of God in their every conversation. If you study your Bible often, your words will carry the very life of Jesus; they will be seasoned with salt.

Reflection:

When people have discussions with you, do they hear the Word of God as you speak?

Hymn 13

1.Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

2.Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying
The Savior who does on the cross

3.Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the word of salvation?
To those who are dying in sin?

4.We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.
