Topic: The Secret of a Remarkable Marriage! (2)

Dear Reader,

I count it a great privilege to bring God’s Word your way again today.  Last week, I laid the foundation of knowing the steps to take in getting into a remarkable marriage.  I said that the secret to experiencing such marriage emanates from how you get your partner.

This week, we shall be going further by exploring one of the secrets to enjoying a remarkable marriage, which I captioned, Understanding your Spouse.

A good understanding of your spouse will help you become a good spouse to your partner, and to enjoy a sweet marriage.  Have the understanding that everyone God has made is unique; you are, and so is your spouse.  There are no two people on planet earth that are exactly the same.  The Bible says: I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well (Psalm 139:14).  So, to enjoy a remarkable marriage, you must understand your spouse.

To augment the understanding of your spouse, you must, first of all, pay attention to his or her background.  For instance, if your spouse is the type that grew up in an environment where he or she did not enjoy parental love, then you should know that such a person will want a spouse that will openly demonstrate love.  A man that had a nagging mother will not want his wife to nag. This understanding will help you a great deal.

Another thing you need to take note of, in effectively understanding your spouse, is paying attention to his/her temperament.  By way of definition, temperament is defined as that part of human character that affects your moods and the way you behave.  From the definition, you can easily understand your spouse at any point in time.  You are able to denote when to present an issue, when not to crack jokes, etc.

Above all, even when the devil is a non-issue in a home, it can still be brought down by foolish hands/minds (Proverbs 14:1).  That is why God’s Word says: Wisdom is the principal thing… (Proverbs 4:7).  It is the principal tool for securing better understanding of your spouse.  Wisdom is the trade secret of a remarkable kind of marriage.  Once your marriage is founded on wisdom, the devil cannot pull it down.  But wise man is one who knows from God’s Word which way to go and how to handle situations to produce the desired results.

Therefore, when you are guided by Scriptures in every aspect of your life, not only in marriage, you are walking in wisdom.  This frustrates the devil, because he knows that your marriage is, by wisdom, founded upon a rock that no wind or storm can uproot.

Wisdom will show you what next to do in any situation in your home, to make it a place of beauty.  Whatever is missing in your marriage, as you have seen in this article, wisdom will help you to locate what it is, and put it in place for you.  So, receive a fresh impartation of wisdom right now, in Jesus’ name.

Walking in wisdom is the privilege of those redeemed.  It takes being a child of God to truly walk in wisdom to secure a better understanding of one’s spouse.  If you are ready for this new birth experience, please pray this simple prayer: “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today.  I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God.  I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”

If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
