Topic: The Secret of a Remarkable Marriage!

Dear Reader,

I welcome you to the maiden edition of this month’s teachings. This month, from God’s Word, we’ll be examining The Secret of a Remarkable Marriage.  This week, I’ll start by discussing What Marriage is Actually About.

The secret to a remarkable marriage emanates from how you get your partner.  Marriage is neither a myth nor magic.  Marriage is a relationship that is to be consciously entered into.  God’s new rule for marriage, after the incident in the Garden of Eden is: Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord (Proverbs 18:22).  Note that the Bible didn’t say “whoso prayeth”’ or “whoso fasteth,” or “whoso his father or mother giveth a wife,” but “whoso findeth”.

Every man must find his wife, and vice versa; and the finding is both a spiritual, mental and physical process.  You must open your physical eyes wide, in order to find.  That way, you are able to assess what you are seeing, whether it is what you really want or not.

To get the best in anything, you need facts, which I consider as the father of success.  For you to a remarkable marriage, there are steps you should involve yourself in, when getting into marriage.  The steps are – Propose, Prepare, Proceed, Promote, Protect, Protest and Possess.  These steps will actually help you to make an intelligent decision on whom to marry.

The journey to marriage begins with a proposal.  Don’t go telling a lady, “God said you are my wife”.  Don’t allow religion to cloud your decision on who to marry. Your proposal must be as a result of your choice, which is based on facts.  God respects your choice, so don’t be afraid to make one.

The preparation for marriage is not just in prayers, but in fact-finding, whether there is any future in the decision to marry.  But unfortunately, when once you are engaged in Africa, marriage is in most cases mandatory.  Many tolerate themselves during their engagement period and eventually get married, and thereafter enter into crisis, which is contrary to the experience of a kind of marriage that want to be remarkable and stand out.  So, breaking an engagement is scripturally permitted; it is not considered as a divorce and should not be mistaken for one.

You are not permitted to proceed in marriage until you are satisfied with the available facts.  The period of promoting the relationship is, therefore, the time for the man to secure an apartment, no matter the size.  You are not qualified for marriage, if you are still eating your father’s food.  Age is not what determines your preparedness for marriage.  What you have not prepared for, you can’t succeed in.

Now that you are set for marriage, you must protect your destiny by protecting yourselves from defilement.  It takes the mercy of God to restore the honour in marriage, once it is defiled.  Also, while preparing for a remarkable marriage, it is a time to say “no” to any unpleasant or unacceptable issue you may have discovered in each other.

After all of the above is accomplished, the next thing to do is to consummate the marriage, and then the home is born.  At this point, you can be sure that a great future awaits you in your home, and that you are heading for something very glorious and colourful.  You will not fail!  Your home shall be the haven God created it to be, in Jesus’ name.  Amen!

It takes being a child of God to truly comprehend and understand what marriage is.  Being a child of God entails confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. If you are not yet born again and you would like to, please pray this simple prayer: “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today.  I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God.  I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”

If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

Congratulations! You are now born again! All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name. Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org; OR 07026385437 and 08141320204.
