SCRIPTURE: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. – Genesis 12:2-3
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is something better than being blessed, and that is being a blessing.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
Scriptures make it clear that there is a divine purpose for the Blessing of God in our lives. There is a purpose for our being blessed —and that is being a blessing.
It is important to take note of the following key facts regarding the Blessing of God.
- There is something better than being blessed.
There is something higher and better than being blessed, and that is being a blessing. Some people ask, “Lord, bless me. Lord, bless me. I want to be blessed.”
But there is something better than having a car to drive, a house to live in, the ability to travel overseas, or the ability to go shopping around the world.
Beloved, there is something better than being blessed, and that is being a blessing.
- The Blessing is designed to be a flowing river
The Blessing is not designed to be a stationary dam; the Blessing is designed to be a flowing river.
- Requests for the Blessing without the desire to be a blessing cannot be granted
Asking God to bless you without the desire to be a blessing is making requests that cannot be granted because He says, “I will bless you, and you shall be a blessing.” (Genesis 12:2).
That is, “If you shall not be a blessing, I will not bless you.” Many people ask why God has not changed their story, not knowing that what would change their story is being a blessing.
- A Blessing that won’t flow won’t last
A Blessing that will not flow will not come, and if it comes, it cannot last.
I’m not talking about money; people can make money. I’m talking of the Blessing of God.
Beloved, I trust God to spark in you a passion to do something beyond you for your generation.
Now, how do you become a blessing after being blessed?
We will be looking at one of the ways today: It is by being a blessing through offering livelihood to multitudes.

How many people owe their livelihood to your blessing? In Genesis 14:14, the Bible says of Abraham, And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.
So, people were working for Abraham; he was also raising other people’s children.
Beloved, I want your mind to be revolutionized. You can trust God for money to make jobs available for people. Don’t forget that God’s purpose for you is not only to be blessed, but to be a blessing.
REMEMBER THIS: There is something better than being blessed, and that is being a blessing.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Determine to be a blessing, not just being blessed.
- Practically be a blessing to your neighbourhood, church, community, town, nation, generation; find out what to do to bless the lives of people around you.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your Word to me today. Help me to live beyond myself and be a blessing to my world, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
