TOPIC: It Is Finished! (Seeds Of Destiny 17 April 2026)
SCRIPTURE: Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed. Isaiah 53:1-5.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Whoever is redeemed by the Blood of Jesus is not inferior to anyone under heaven.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
These three words: It is finished! are among the most powerful words ever spoken in human history. They were not words of weakness. They were not words of surrender to defeat; they were words of victory. They were words that announced the completion of a divine assignment.
The Cross was not an accident. It was not a tragedy. It was not a failure. The Cross was a divine transaction. It was heaven’s strategy for the redemption of mankind. At Calvary, something eternal happened: humanity crossed over from bondage to freedom, from condemnation to justification, and from despair to hope.
Everything we are today as believers stands on what happened at Calvary. Without the Cross, there will be no Christianity. Without the Cross, there is no redemption.
Now, what Did Jesus Carry on the Cross?
It is important to understand why Jesus went to the Cross and the things He carried:
- He Carried Our Transgressions and Iniquities.
On the Cross of Calvary, sin was dealt with, condemnation was addressed, and the price for our redemption was fully paid by the Master. No believer should live under the burden of sin and the weight of guilt when Jesus already took away our transgressions. The iniquity of us all was laid on Him. - He Carried Our Sickness and Infirmity.
Before the Cross, sickness dominated humanity, but at Calvary, Divine health was secured. Jesus carried away our griefs and sorrows — which include pains, diseases, and afflictions.
Divine health is not an afterthought; it is part of our redemption package. The stripes on Jesus’ back were not meaningless; they were the price He paid for our wholeness. - He Carried Our Oppression and Bondage.
Every form of captivity, spiritual oppression, generational bondage, curses, or demonic harassment was addressed at the Cross. The power of darkness was confronted. The authority of Satan was challenged. The Cross was the battlefield where principalities and powers were disarmed. - He Carried Our Rejection and Shame.
He was despised and rejected by men. He experienced rejection so that we might experience acceptance. He was humiliated so we could be esteemed. He bore shame so we can wear dignity. The Cross removes inferiority. Whoever is redeemed by the Blood of Jesus is not inferior to anyone under heaven. - He Carried Our Sorrows and Depression.
He was a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53:3). He experienced human pain, so we would not be permanently trapped in pain.
Our grief, emotional wounds, and cycles of sorrow were all laid upon Him. Joy became our covenant right because our sorrow was placed on Him.
- He Carried Our Poverty and Scarcity.
Scripture declares that though Jesus was rich, for our sakes, He became poor. This speaks not merely of money but of self-deprivation. At Calvary, the spell of lack was broken, and the blessing of provision was secured. The Cross broke the authority of scarcity over the redeemed – 2 Corinthians 8:9 - He Carried Our Premature Death.
He tasted death for every man, so death would not have final the authority over us (Hebrews 2:9). He died so we could live. Premature death lost its power when He declared, “It is finished!”
What does “It Is Finished!” really mean?
- It Means, “It has Ended!”
- The reign of sin ended with that declaration.
- The legal authority of Satan ended.
- The dominion of darkness ended.
- It Means Completed.
The assignment was completed. The mission was accomplished. Nothing was left undone. - It Means Paid in Full.
a. The debt of sin has been paid in full.
b. The penalty of transgression has been paid in full.
Beloved, there is no outstanding balance; nothing remains unpaid, and the handwriting that was against us was nailed to the Cross.
The record was cleared.
The charges were canceled.
The debt was discharged.
Remember This: Whoever is redeemed by the Blood of Jesus is not inferior to anyone under heaven.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for the finished work of Calvary. Thank You because my sin is forgiven, my healing is secured, bondage is broken, and my debt is paid. I receive by faith everything Jesus accomplished for me. I refuse to carry what He has already carried. I walk in victory by the finished work of Jesus, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
ASSIGNMENT(S)
- Today, identify any burden you are still carrying – guilt, fear, sickness, shame, anxiety, etc.
- Consciously lay it at the Cross in prayer.
- Declare aloud: It is finished! Then begin to live as one who believes that it is finished.
