SCRIPTURE: Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. – James 5:16
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When your conscience is defiled, your boldness is denied.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2025 MESSAGE:
Many years ago, during our January 21days Fasting and Prayer, a young man and a young lady who were cohabiting were also participating in the programme. They would go home after the evening prayer meeting and break their fast on the grounds of immorality. What a waste of prayer and fasting! I am not referring to people who were under demonic oppression.
There are people who live any how they want and are trying to somehow bribe God with some spiritual actions – fasting, praying, giving, serving, etc. This is a kind of lifestyle that brings hinderance to prayer.
Many people desire answers to prayer, but they don’t know what to do to secure answers to their prayers. Now, how do you make your prayer more effective? What are the keys to answered prayer?

Our anchor scripture says,…the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. So, it is the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous that avails much.
Isaiah 59:1-2 confirms the negative impact of a life of sin on prayer, Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
So, there is something that can block your access to God, and it is called iniquity.
One of the worst things that can happen to anyone is to maintain a defiled conscience. It is possible to err, and ask for mercy, but to continue to live a life of lying, cheating, duping, immorality, is a waste of life.
It is crucial to know that unrighteousness denies people access to the Presence of God (Isaiah 58:1-2). Sin deprives man boldness at the place of prayer.
Beloved, when your conscience is defiled, your boldness is denied (Proverbs 28:1). So, make up your mind never to be comfortable in sin. Maintaining a clear conscience is a capital requirement for answered prayer.
Remember this: When your conscience is defiled, your boldness is denied.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Ask God for mercy wherever you have erred.
- Refuse to live in sin
- Renew your mind daily with God’s word and refuse to entertain wrong thoughts.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to live uprightly as I journey through life. Thank you for granting me audience and answering my prayer as I maintain a clear conscience, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
