SCRIPTURE: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You may be alive but something dies in you when you commit sin.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2023 MESSAGE:
It has been established that one of the undoing of man on earth is sin. There is no future for a sinner. Sin hinders destiny and the fulfilment of God’s Purpose,
In our study today, we shall look at the wages of sin:
- Iniquity corrupts mentality (Judges 16:6-7).
Iniquity makes a person not to think straight. Iniquity corrupts mentality.
For example, a man may see no reason why he should take care of his wife at home. When his wife asks for a small amount of money, it becomes a quarrel, but the same man could give a strange woman, a “Jezebel” he just met on the street a huge sum of money. This is because iniquity has corrupted his mentality. - Iniquity attacks focus (Judges 16:6-7).
Iniquity attacks a man’s focus. For example, a drunkard practically has no focus. His mind is taken off important things of life. He does useless and aimless things because his focus is under attack as a result of iniquity.
You cannot be focused when you are distracted by iniquity. - Iniquity attacks potential (Judges 16:6-7).
Iniquity weakens a man’s potential. Iniquity weakens a man’s capability, strength, and sharpness.
When Samson slept with Delilah and his hair was shaved, he woke up and wanted to go out as at other times, but he had no strength anymore, his potential was weakened.
T. L. Osborn once said, “Whenever you allow sin in your life, something dies inside of you.”

This is true because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23a).
You may be alive but something dies in you when you commit sin.
When you take the money that you are not licensed to take, you destroy “something” of greater worth in you.
- Iniquity ultimately ruins destiny (Judges 16:20-21).
Sin kills your future. Sin ended the destinies of Samson and Judas Iscariot.
My counsel is, resist sin and uphold integrity so you can fulfil your destiny.
Remember this: You may be alive but something dies in you when you commit sin.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Resist sin vehemently like Joseph did when he was tempted by Potiphar’s wife.
- Make the decision to live right. Dissociate yourself from the company of sinners.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You help me not to lose my destiny through sin. I receive the grace to run from every appearance of evil, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
