SCRIPTURE: But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense. – 2 Chronicles 26:16
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every calling in God is a high calling; the pitfall is not in your calling, but in elevating yourself to a different one.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
Uzziah was a king, yet he elevated himself to a calling that was not his; he arrogated to himself the office of a priest.
This is a warning every one of us must take seriously: elevating yourself to a different calling or arrogating to yourself a calling that God never gave you, is a destructive pitfall on the journey of destiny.
I have seen successful businessmen mess up their lives by branching into politics. Suddenly, they step in because they think that is where to be. Soon, they become entangled in corrupt dealings, and the millions and billions they once possessed begin to disappear. In the end, people conclude that all their wealth was what they stole from the government, forgetting that they were already financially established before entering public office.
It is possible that God can call you first into business and then lead you into a political calling, but it is not compulsory. Whatever your call is, remain there.
When Jacob was brought before Pharaoh, Jacob blessed Pharaoh. In his heart he knew he was higher than Pharaoh, who was like the king of the world at the time. But Jacob knew he carried a patriarchal mantle, the mantle from Abraham, his grandfather, passed on to him through Isaac, his father. Joseph set Jacob, his father before Pharaoh, and Jacob blessed Pharaoh, for the Bible says, “The less is blessed of the better.” (Hebrews 7:7). Though Pharaoh had money, influence, and land, Jacob knew he was higher than he, notwithstanding.
When people don’t know who they are, they mess themselves up, stepping up and down in the name of one thing or another. Wherever God has planted you, in business, in ministry, in politics, or in diplomacy, know exactly what is yours.
David was a king, a priest and a prophet; therefore, it is possible for callings to overlap. On occasion, God entrusts individuals with multiple mantles, but each must be clearly understood.
Do not do things because others are doing them, or because you have been forced into doing them; Do things because you know God has called you to do them.
Beloved, Uzziah’s tragedy was not that he lacked a calling; he already had one, and it was a high one, he was a king over the kingdom of Judah. His downfall came the day he reached for what belonged to another. Whatever God has called you to, honour it as a high calling, and refuse the temptation to arrogate to yourself what has not been given to you. Everyone should face their calling. Every calling in God is a high calling, whether your call is to full-time Ministry, business, political leadership, or whatever it is. That which God has called you to is a high calling; face it!
REMEMBER THIS: Every calling in God is a high calling; the danger is not in where God has placed you, but in reaching for a place He has not.

- Reflect on whether you are operating within your calling or reaching for one that isn’t yours.
- Honour the place God has planted you, whether in business, ministry, or leadership.
PRAYER: Father, help me to know exactly what You have called me to do, and give me the grace to remain faithful there. Let me never arrogate to myself a calling that is not mine, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
