TOPIC: The Benefits Of Positive Character (Seeds Of Destiny 5 May 2026)
SCRIPTURE: Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Psalms 24:3-5.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you please God with your life, God will place favour upon your life.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
The Scripture makes it clear that Godliness or righteousness, which is also regarded as positive character, is profitable. Examples abound throughout the Scripture of those who lived uprightly and how their uprightness benefited them. People like Queen Esther, King David, Job, Daniel, and others were people of positive character, and Scripture reveals how their lifestyle of positive character uplifted them.
1 Timothy 4:8 says, For bodily exercise profiteth little: but Godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
In our study today, we shall explore the benefits of positive character, and they include:
- The Presence of God. The Presence of God belongs to the Godly, the upright in character. You feel God around them (Psalm 24:3-5).
- The boldness of faith.
People with positive and upright characters are bold and audacious in faith. They have the capacity to believe God for anything (Proverbs 28:1). - The anointing of God.
The anointing of God is with the upright in character. The anointing gives you the capacity to fulfil purpose and destiny. When you are anointed, you are empowered to fulfil the purpose of God for your life (Eccl. 9:8). - The favour of God.
Godly character attracts favour. Psalms 5:12 says, For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
Godliness activates the favour of God. Proverbs 16:7 says, “When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Favour could also be seen in the life of Joseph in Genesis 39:21. He refused to compromise with his brethren and with Potiphar’s wife, so God gave him favour.
The favour of God was also the portion of Daniel in Daniel 1:8-9: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. As Daniel refused to defile himself, God brought him into favour.
Beloved, if you are trusting God for favour, you don’t get it by crookedness; you get it by righteousness and uprightness. If you please God with your life, God will place favour upon your life.
- The guarantee of answered prayer.
The guarantee of answered prayer is the privilege of one with Godly character. Godly character is a foundation for answered prayer.
James 5:16 says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.” The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
A righteous man’s prayer has power; it is dynamic and flows with answers. Isaiah 59:1-2 corroborates this.
No wonder the Psalmist says in Psalms 66:18, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.”
In other words, “The Lord will not hear me if my life is not right with Him. But He will hear me if my life is right with Him.”
Beloved, the guarantee of answered prayer is the privilege of those who walk in upright and positive character.
REMEMBER THIS: If you please God with your life, God will place favour upon your life.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Make up your mind to please God with your life.
- Ask God to give you the grace to live uprightly.
- Avoid the lifestyle of dishonesty and crookedness.
PRAYER: Father, let my life reflect Your Image in character and conduct. Give me the grace to live uprightly, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
