THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you know what you do and you do it well, your world will look for you.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
Knowledge is a major requirement for meaningful work and influence. If you are not knowledgeable, you are not marketable—no one is looking for a liability to hire. But when you know what you do and do it well, your world will look for you. Knowing your work and doing it well is a major requirement for relevance, influence, and impact.
What then are the benefits of knowing your work?
- To be knowledgeable is to be marketable
1 Kings 9:27 tells us that Hiram sent shipmen who had knowledge of the sea to serve with Solomon’s servants. That is, if he was going to send someone to Solomon, he had to send a knowledgeable person.
Joseph had knowledge of dreams and their interpretations, so he was brought before Pharaoh (Genesis 41:14–16).
David knew how to play the instrument very well, so he was brought before Saul (1 Samuel 16:17–18).
Daniel had the skill of wisdom, so he was brought before kings (Daniel 5:11).
Excellence is the answer to prejudice. When you know how to do the work—especially when you are the only one who can do it, your tribal or racial background becomes immaterial. Every trace of nepotism or discrimination gives way. They may be of another religion or tribe, but if you know how to do it and you do it well, they will look for you.
- To be knowledgeable is to make divine favour and promotion easy
You make it easy for God to elevate you when you know your work. God is a just God; He will not advertise mediocrity.
Daniel 6:1–4 shows us that Daniel distinguished himself because “an excellent spirit was in him.” When you know your work better than others, and combine that knowledge with humility and character, you make it easy for God to position you at the top.
- To be knowledgeable is to bring honour and glory to God (Matthew 5:14–16).
When you become excellent at what you do, and people can see that you are also a person of character and integrity, your excellence becomes a testimony to the God you serve.
God wants us to be outstanding and exceptional. Do not bring insult to God through mediocrity—showing up late, being unable to do simple tasks, or failing to demonstrate competence in the profession you claim to practise. That is not just an insult to you; it is an insult to God and His Kingdom.
Beloved, excellence is a kingdom demand. It is a department of holiness—doing things cleanly and neatly. Give yourself to the acquisition of relevant knowledge, develop your skills, and become excellent in doing what God has placed in your hands to do. Let your competence and character cause your world to glorify your God.
REMEMBER THIS: If you know what you do and you do it well, your world will look for you.

- Identify the area of your work that requires greater knowledge and deliberately develop yourself in it.
- Give yourself to excellence and refuse to settle for mediocrity.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for the abilities and opportunities You have given me. Grant me the grace to increase in knowledge, wisdom, skill, and excellence so I can become outstanding in my field, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
