SCRIPTURE: And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren… And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed… And God granted him that which he requested. – 1 Chronicles 4:9–10.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer positions God’s people in His presence, where His blessing, joy, pleasure, and favour are released.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that the lifestyle of prayer is a major channel or pathway to the flow of the Blessing of God. Throughout Scripture, men and women who walked in the Blessing were men and women who lived the life of prayer.
Jabez’s life demonstrated the power of prayer. Though he was born in sorrow, yet he prayed down the Blessing of God upon his life against all odds. He made up his mind that at the altar of prayer he must also become a blessed person, and a symbol of the Blessing.
The story of Abraham is another clear Scriptural example. Abraham had a personal prayer walk with God, rising early to stand before the Lord at the place of prayer (Genesis 19:27). He was also an intercessor who stood in the gap for Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18:23–26). Abraham was a person who prayed personal and intercessory prayers; he became the symbol of God’s Blessing.
Now, how does prayer position us for the Blessing of God?
- Prayer positions us in the Presence of God. Elijah says in 1 Kings 17:1, “…As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand…”
A stand before God talks about a position of prayer. Psalm 16:11 states, in His presence is fullness of joy and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore. Therefore, the man who prays is a man who is positioned in the Presence of God, and a man positioned in the Presence of God is the man positioned in the realm of pleasures.
- Prayer envelopes our lives with the fragrance of divine favour. Esther was a woman of prayer and fasting (Esther 4:16), and as a result, she obtained favour in the sight of all who looked upon her (Esther 2:15–17).
I would like you to understand that Esther did not suddenly talk about prayer and fasting when confronted with the threat of extermination; that was her lifestyle. It was her regular practice. If something is not your lifestyle, you cannot suddenly begin to do it in a time of critical urgency. No wonder she lived in the realm of favour; and favour brings additions to life.
So, prayer envelops the saints with the fragrance of favour. And that fragrance of favour provokes the additions of positive things into our lives (Acts 2:47).
Beloved, a consistent life of prayer keeps you in God’s Presence, surrounds you with divine favour, and positions you for His Blessing.
REMEMBER THIS: Prayer positions God’s people in His Presence, where His blessing, joy, pleasure, and favour are released.

- Spend time in God’s Presence daily, not only in times of need but rather as a way of life.
- Pray confidently for God’s Blessing, favour, and purpose to be established in your life.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for the light of Your Word to me today. I ask that You draw me into a life of deeper devotion and intimacy with You. Position me in Your Presence, surround me with Your favour, and let Your Blessing rest upon my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
