In line with its brand promise of engaging Nigerian youths creatively, leading lemon-lime sparkling flavoured drink, Sprite, has announced the comeback of its unique and popular youth engagement platform – the Sprite Triple Slam.

According to the beverage brand, the reactivation of Sprite Triple Slam, an experiential activation platform hinged on the three youth passions of basketball, music and dance, is borne of the desire to encourage Nigerian youths to display their skills and dexterity in ways that allow for true self-expression.

Speaking about the experiential property, Senior Brand Manager, Flavours, Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited, Toyin Nnodi, stated that “Consumer research insights reveal that Nigerian Teens and youths desire a platform to express their emotions and key passions. We have therefore taken a decision to re-activate this property to provide Sprite consumers with an appropriate platform to express themselves.”

Nnodi revealed that this year’s activation will focus on town storms, awareness drives and freestyle performances in Basketball, Music and Dance in each of the seven University locations where the activations will be carried out. She also added that, “there will also be performances by popular artistes to give the audience a truly rewarding experience at the event.”

Shedding light on the timelines for the activations, Nnodi stated that the Sprite Triple Slam events will kick off on Friday, September 11 at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), after which the train will make a move to the University of Calabar (UNICAL) on Friday, September 18 and University of Ibadan (UI) on Friday, September 25.

She concluded, “The team will take a one week break, after which they will proceed to Enugu State University (ESUT) on Fri, October 9; River State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) two weeks later, then to the University of Lagos (UNILAG), and Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), the final stop for the 2015 activation.
