Memorise: “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” – Proverbs 14:12

Read: Daniel 6:4-10

4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

6 Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever.

7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.

8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

9 Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.

10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

Bible In One Year: Job 31-32, Acts 13:1-23

MESSAGE:

God is looking for young boys and girls ready to stand their ground and position themselves on His side irrespective of the fact that many people are in the opposing side. Doing this will not be easy especially when you see your peers freely doing as they wish. This should not bother you because it is better to stand with God and be unpopular amongst your peers than to do things that will make God sad and win the favour of people.

There are several examples of people who stood their ground in the Bible, one is Daniel; he loved God so much that he could not avoid praying to Him even though there was a decree to kill those who prayed to God. And on his behalf, God proved Himself to the king by the shutting the mouths of the lions. Elijah is another example, he was willing to stand alone against the prophets of Baal and he successfully did because he was with God. God is calling you today to be one of His beloved. He needs your youthfulness, vigour and strength. Choose to stand for God.

Prayer Point:
O Lord, remove from my heart every live for the world.

Hymn 7:

1 I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Chorus:
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

3 Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
