Memorise: Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. John 15:16

Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 9:25-27

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Bible Reading In One Year: Job 33-34; Acts 13:24-52

MESSAGE:

You must be careful and strategic in your approach to Kingdom assignments. The men who volunteered to satisfy King David’s thirst in 2 Samuel 23:14-17 must have hatched a plan that will enable their success. They were going into the enemy’s zone to get what their master needed. They must bring the water back safe and they must also return in one piece. This same situation is what you are in as a child of God. You were born for a purpose, and that purpose must be fulfilled. The twist to the plot is that you are in the midst of enemies who will do everything it takes to make sure you don’t succeed. You however, do not have a choice, you have to succeed. People call such situations a do or die matter, but in actual fact, it is a ‘do and live’ matter.

You therefore need a strategy. You will fail woefully if you step forward without a strategy consciously put in place. Are you a student?, Your purpose is to succeed in your studies. What strategy have you put in place to ensure that? Do you have a timetable for studying?. What’s your attitude towards your lectures? Do you pick your friends wisely or you just become friends with anyone you come across?

Key Point:

Allow the Holy Spirit guide you to make plans for whatever you want to achieve and stick with it.

Hymn: When We Walk With The Lord

  1. When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way,
While we do His good will,
    He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey,
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

  1. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away,
Not a doubt or a fear,
Not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
  2. Not a burden we bear,
    Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay,
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey.
  3. But we never can prove
    The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
    For the favour He shows,
    And the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
  4. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends, we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
