Topic: Taking Grace For Granted? [Teens Open Heavens 15 November 2018]

Memorise: God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? – Romans 6:2 Read: Romans 6:1-5 (KJV) Bible In One Year: Ezekiel 10-12, Hebrews 11:1-9 MESSAGE: Just as certain as things are peculiar to champions, ex-champions also have things in common to them. When we look at the prayer of Samson, an ex-champion in Judges 16:28, the first he said was, “Remember me on Lord!” Why was he asking to be remembered? It is because people don’t easily remember ex-champions. It is the champion’s crown that is revered by many, not the one wearing the crown. When the crown goes, so goes everything the crown attracted. Samson also said “strengthen me”. Strength is an invisible force. Philippians 4:13 says you are enabled to do all things by the strength that Jesus supplies. Another thing that Samson said was “strengthen me this once”. As a believer, you ought to learn a thing from this. He did not ask for restoration several times but just once. Have you been falling and rising? Do note that when Samson fell, he asked for restoration just once. God always receives backsliders, but not when you take His grace, mercy and love for granted. If you once fell and asked for forgiveness, remain in Christ. Stop taking His grace for granted. Action Point: Do not take God’s grace for granted. I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice, And it told Thy love to me; But I long to rise in the arms of faith And be closer drawn to Thee. Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord To the cross where Thou hast died; Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord, To Thy precious, bleeding side. 2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord, By the pow’r of grace divine; Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope, And my will be lost in Thine. 3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour That before Thy throne I spend, When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God I commune as friend with friend! 4. There are depths of love that I cannot know Till I cross the narrow sea; There are heights of joy that I may not reach Till I rest in peace with Thee.
