Open Heavens for Teens

Topic: Finishing The Race [Teens’ Open Heavens 27th, March 2018]

Memorise: I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: – 2 Timothy 4:7

Read: 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV)

7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Bible In One Year: Joshua 19-20, Luke 5:17-39

MESSAGE:

God has called us into an uncommon race. But unlike an earthly race, the strength for you to run this race can only be supplied by the Holy Spirit. If you read 2 Corinthians 11:23-33 and 2 Corinthians 4:7-9, you will see some of the difficulties and the challenges that Paul encountered during his race, yet he kept going by the power of the Holy Spirit. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, it becomes easy to finish strong. In a football game, 22 people would have kicked the ball up and down for the better part of 90 minutes or more; although the men become tired, the ball remains strong. Are you battered, beaten and kicked about like the ball? Hold on to the Holy Spirit! He will ensure nothing deflates you. As long as He has filled you, you will be able to fly and weather every negative situation that comes your way.

It is also important to know that in the lives of many believers today, there are so many pending issues: pending repentance, pending restitutions and unfinished assignment from the Master. Check your life and find out where you owe God. Immediately put your life in order. If Paul can finish the race strong, you too can.

Prayer Point: Holy Spirit, like never before, please fill me up till I overflow.

Hymn 7:

1. I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Chorus
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

4. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee
