Open Heavens for Teens

Topic: Air Force Control [Teens’ Open Heavens Monday 5th, March 2018]

Memorise: What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us who can be against us? Romans 8:31

Read: Joshua 10:8-11

8 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.

9 Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night.

10 And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

Bible In One Year: Numbers 34-36, Mark 10:32-52

MESSAGE:

The Almighty God is a war veteran who is not only good at fighting on land, but also at sea, in the air and everywhere else. The airways belong to Him. In Exodus 9 when Pharaoh refused to release the Israelites, God took over the air and sent grievous flies in their billions. Instead of breathing in clean air, the Egyptians breathed in flies and many lost their lives in the process.

In today’s Bible reading, when five kings connived against Joshua because he was succeeding, God sent bombs from Heaven which killed most of them. When the Almighty God is on your side, victory is certain and you have nothing to fear. This is why it is very important that you have a cordial relationship with Him. Read His Word often, and build your faith in Him in prayers.

Action Point: Set out more time than you already have for prayers.

Hymn 8:

1. Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.

2. Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above,
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.

3. To all life thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish-but nought changeth Thee.

4. Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
All laud we would render; o help us to see;
‘Tis only the splendour of light hideth Thee.

5. Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise
