Open Heavens for Teens

Topic: Watch Your Steps [Teens Open Heavens 6, May 2018]

Memorise: Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Psalm 119:133

Read: Psalm 37:23 (KJV)

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

Bible In One Year: 1 Kings 12-13, Luke 24:36-53

MESSAGE:

Our steps move us forward or backward depending on which direction we take. Your steps today will determine where you will be tomorrow. The step of clubbing is regressive step, having a boyfriend or a girlfriend is regressive step. Some steps may look nice to take, but look at it very well, is it a regressive or progressive step? Any step you cannot proudly tell your God fearing pastor about is a regressive one.

It seems fashionable to be the most popular boy or girl in school. You may want to be known as the most social boy or girl around, but you must be careful. In chasing popularity, take the right steps. It is better to be popular as the most brilliant girl in school than as the best dancer at clubs. Your future matters more than your present. Many of the popular play boys and girls when I was in school then are now ashamed to speak or show themselves amongst our mates. While others were taking steps that will lead them to greatness in the future, they were taking steps that led them to a poor future. Watch your steps!

Key Point: The steps you take today will eventually lead you to the life you will live tomorrow

Hymn 16
1. Christian, seek not yet repose,
Hear thy gracious Savior say;
Thou art in the midst of foes:
Watch and pray.

2. Principalities and power,
Mustering their unseen array,
Wait for the unguarded hours:
Watch and pray.

3. Gird the heavenly armor on,
Wear it ever night and day;
Ambushed lies the evil one:
Watch and pray.

4. Hear the victors who o’ercame,
Still they mark each warriors’s way;
All with one sweet voice exclaim,
Watch and pray.

5. Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
Him thou lovest to obey;
Hide within thy heart His word:
Watch and pray.

6. Watch, as if on that alone
Hung the issue of the day;
Pray, that help may be sent down:
Watch and pray.
