Memorise: Wherefore God hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name. Philippians 2:9

Read: Philippians 2:9-11 (KJV)

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Bible In One Year: 2 Chronicles 23-25, John 16:16-33

MESSAGE:

In an estate containing 15 houses, a fire broke out one day. It progressed from one house to the next. It was meant to engulf all the houses in that estate, but one of the houses was owned by a born again Christian. As she prayerfully resisted the inevitable, she simply engaged one word – Jesus. Her house was the eight on the row, the fire engulfed the first seven houses, jumped over her and burned the ninth and the rest.
Quite a lot of things are loaded into the name Jesus; your salvation rom sin, Satan and the world are in that Name. it is the only authentic, Heaven-certified, earth and hell recognized name capable of salvaging any mess. Are you in a mess and it seems there is no way out? Call the Name of Jesus and you will find permanent solution.

Key Point: When in danger or trouble, shout the Name Jesus.

Hymn 10:

1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Ev’rything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Ev’rything to God in prayer!

2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a Friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our ev’ry weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer!

3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield You;
You wilt find a solace there.
