A story was told of a wealthy man who could not sleep beyond one hour; and within that hour, he would gasped for breath from the sleep because of horror nightmare. He had a driver who every given opportunity sleeps off. One day as he drove his boss out, traffic warden stopped them, while the man was trying to sought himself out, the driver fell asleep again. With anger, his boss said to him, what is your problem that every minute you sleep off? It’s Jesus he told his boss. What do you mean by “It’s Jesus? His boss asked. Jesus is the one that gives me peace of mind which is why I easily sleep off, he replied his boss. His boss ended up surrendering his life to Jesus and ever since then, he was able to sleep peacefully without fear of evil. Pro. 1:33
Many (like the above man) are always afraid to sleep because of the terrifying nightmare they usually encounter. David said, I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. Ps. 3:5. It’s God’s peace in your heart that makes you sleep like a baby and wake up like a giant in the morning. Ever since I gave my life to Christ, I have never had difficulty going to bed, even, I am always afraid to kneel in prayer because I might probably sleep off. Sleeplessness? You need the God of all peace now.
